Two Charged In Package Thefts In Hoboken: Police
A man and woman were charged last week with two offenses related to package thefts in Hoboken.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Amid a growing trend in online ordering, Hoboken residents have been dealing with the menace of package thefts. Monday, Hoboken police released details of another arrest in connection with the thefts.
Police said that on Tuesday, Jan. 17, they arrested Carlos Torres, 41, of Union City at approximately 7 p.m. in the area of 13th and Garden streets for an open warrant. Mr. Torres was also charged "after being identified as the actor who committed a package theft on 01/15/2023 in the area of Seventh and Park Avenue," police said.
Additionally, Shaneka Boatwright, 45, of was arrested that Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. a block away, near 12th and Garden streets, police said.

Police said that the pair "worked together to commit the package theft."
As a result, both were given two charges: theft of moveable property, and conspiracy to commit theft, according to Lt. Jonathan Mecka.

They were both taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, police said.
