UNIQLO, Kong Dog, 2 Other Stores Coming To Newport Centre Mall In Jersey City

Four stores will open in the Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City, accessible by PATH train. One will have a grand opening giveaway next week.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City is popular with New Jerseyans and New Yorkers alike, an easy $2.75 PATH train ride away. Now, in addition to Macy's, JC Penny, Kohl's, Sears, a food court, and dozens of other stores, three new shops and a new restaurant will be added by late summer.

A store representative shared that UNIQLO, a global apparel brand known for "simple, high-quality, everyday clothing designed with life’s needs in mind," will have a grand opening event Friday, March 24.

The grand opening, starting at 9:40 a.m., will feature a Taiko drum performance rooted in UNIQLO’s Japanese heritage, followed by a ribbon cutting. Complimentary treats and coffee will be distributed to the line, along with exclusive products and promotions inside the store.

The store is in the Center Court on Level 1.

Three more shops are coming later this summer to the mall:

  • Kong Dog: A TikTok-famous joint serving up Korean-style corn dogs.
  • A Sneaker City: A place to buy, sell, and trade sneakers and streetwear, including Nike, Jordan Brand, Adidas, and Essentials.
  • Steepologie Teas: Slated to open in September, Steepologie Teas offers 250 fresh loose leaf teas, over 50 bagged teas, teaware, gift packs, and more.
