Yo, New York, Hoboken Will Have Fireworks On The Waterfront
Each Hudson River fireworks display brings a flurry of questions from Hudson County and NYC residents. Now you know: Fireworks Saturday.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Boom! Surprise fireworks along the Hudson River always cause a flurry of speculation, not to mention people complaining that the noise scared their dogs and woke their babies. In fact, mysterious fireworks set off a few days after 9/11 last year were particularly unwelcome, from what New Yorkers and New Jerseyans had to say on Twitter. Just so you know: The Stevens Institute of Technology, located on Hoboken's central waterfront, has planned a fireworks display this Saturday, May 14, at approximately 9:15 p.m.
The city of Hoboken said in an alert to residents Thursday, "On Saturday May 14, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Stevens Institute of Technology will have a fireworks display" but did not release more information.

The event is not listed on Stevens' public event calendar, but a spokesperson said on Friday, "The fireworks are for the grand opening of the University Center Complex." (Find out about the new building here.)
