2nd Time This Year Truck Collides With Laurel Ave. Bridge
For the third time in two years, a truck ran into the Laurel Ave. NJ Transit overpass. This was the scene Monday morning in Holmdel:

HOLMDEL, NJ — Yet another truck hit the Laurel Avenue NJ Transit overpass. Holmdel police released these photos of a tractor trailer that hit the bridge at 11:40 a.m. Monday, May 21.
"Yet another tractor trailer traveling on Laurel Ave. struck the New Jersey Transit railroad bridge," Holmdel police wrote. "The trailer became wedged under the bridge and had to be removed by a heavy-duty towing company."
Incredibly, this is the third time in two years that a truck has not been able to clear the bridge, which has a clearance of 12 feet, five inches. The most recent time this happened was just a few months ago:

March 19, 2018: VIDEO: FedEx Truck Hits Bridge In Holmdel. A FedEx truck collided with the Laurel Avenue bridge, and a helicopter captured aerial footage of the damage. The impact was so great it shaved the roof off the truck and actually split the truck in two.

There were no injuries and no other vehicles were involved in Monday's misshap. Laurel Ave was closed in both directions for approximately one hour while the scene was secured and cleaned up.
The driver was issued multiple motor vehicle summonses for disregarding the height-restriction traffic warning signs, Holmdel police said.
