Did You Receive This Call? Holmdel Police Say It’s A Scam
Fraudulent callers claiming to represent the Holmdel PBA are attempting to solicit donation money, according to police.
HOLMDEL, NJ – Authorities are warning Holmdel residents of a reported scam call made by callers falsely identifying themselves as representatives from the Holmdel PBA.
A fraudulent call was reported to police by one local business, with the anonymous caller soliciting donations for the organization, according to the department. However, Holmdel police say that the Holmdel PBA – along with most other New Jersey police unions – do not call residents for donations.
“We’ve received a call from a local business that they were contacted by the "Holmdel PBA", asking for donations over the phone,” wrote the department in an Aug. 21 Facebook post.
