Fire On Roof Of Cinemark Movie Theater In Hazlet

HAZLET, NJ — A fire broke out on the roof of the Cinemark movie theater early Wednesday morning in Hazlet, volunteer fire departments in the area reported.

The fire broke out at the Rt. 35 movie theater shortly before 2 a.m. today. Holmdel firefighters responded, as did Keansburg and Union Beach.

The fire broke out in the air conditioning unit on the roof. Firefighters had to ventilate the second floor of the movie theater afterwards. Holmdel firefighters then had to leave the scene to respond to a carbon monoxide detector that went off in someone's home.
