Hazlet: Woman Charged With Violating Quarantine
A Parlin woman was arrested in Hazlet last Wednesday night after police say she attacked another woman who was dating her boyfriend.
HAZLET, NJ — A Parlin woman was arrested in Hazlet last Wednesday night after police say she attacked another woman who was dating her boyfriend. In addition to simple assault charges, the Parlin woman was also charged with violating the governor's stay-at-home orders, according to the state Attorney General.
On the evening of April 15, Hazlet police responded to a 911 call of a woman being attacked by another woman outside the victim's Hazlet home. Katie Orszulski, 29, of Parlin, was arrested.
Police say Orszulski got into an argument with the Hazlet woman over a man they both were dating. Orszulski went to the victim’s home, dragged her outside, and began beating her in the street, said police.

Orszulski was charged with burglary, simple assault (a disorderly persons offense), criminal mischief (a disorderly persons offense), and she was also charged with violating the state's emergency orders to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
Violating the state's emergency orders is considered a disorderly persons offense that carries a fine.
