High-End Cars Broken Into And Stolen In Holmdel, Deal

Two unlocked Mercedes were stolen from Holmdel driveways in late April, and unlocked cars were entered and rifled through on Mother's Day.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Cars are still being stolen and broken into throughout Monmouth County, with incidents reported this April and May in Holmdel and Deal.

Holmdel police say that at approximately 2:15 a.m. on April 29, a 2017 Mercedes Benz E350 and a 2018 Mercedes G63 were stolen from two different residences on Richards Way. It appeared to be at least three male actors wearing masks in a dark-colored Range Rover Sport. Both vehicles were unlocked with key fobs inside.

And on Mother's Day Sunday, May 10 several unlocked cars in Holmdel were entered overnight, but no vehicles have yet been reported stolen. The cars were entered in the Ramapo/Sweetbriar and Tiberon developments in the early morning hours of May 10, at about 3:15 a.m.

"This incident occurred this afternoon in broad daylight and thankfully the resident listened to our repeated advisories, followed common sense, and LOCKED their car. This gives you an idea of how fast this occurs and how easy it would have been to steal the car had it been unlocked with the keys inside," said Deal police in a statement on May 9.

"Thankfully, Ptl Lokerson was in the area and interrupted this crew's attempt to steal more vehicles."
