Holmdel 8th Grader Wins State Math Competition

Brian Liu will represent Holmdel and the state of New Jersey at the National Competition in Orlando this spring.

HOLMDEL, NJ - An eighth grader at William R. Satz school, Brian Liu, took first place in the state MathCounts competition and will represent Holmdel Schools and the state of New Jersey at the National Competition in Orlando this spring.

What's perhaps even more impressive is that this is the second year in a row Liu has earned this distinction.

In addition, Liu and his peers Samuel Hampel and Winston Li all earned perfect scores in all five of the Continental Mathematics League competitions Holmdel competed in this year.
