Holmdel Election Day 2019: Everything You Need To Know
Will Holmdel Mayor Eric Hinds be able to hold onto his seat Tuesday? That's what everyone in Holmdel wants to know. Other races to watch:
HOLMDEL, NJ — Will longtime Holmdel Twp. Committeeman Eric Hinds be able to keep his seat Tuesday, and fight off a particularly competitive challenge from Weber/Santhana? Especially after he was censured by the Township Committee for potentially misdirecting $2.1 million in Township funds.
We'll find out once Tuesday night, Nov. 5 arrives. Polls close at 8 p.m. Look up your polling location on the New Jersey Division of Election's website. Here are the big races:

Holmdel Township Committee: Less than a month before the election, Holmdel Mayor Eric Hinds, who is seeking re-election with running mate Chiung-Yin Cheng Liu, was censured by three out of his five fellow Twp. Committee members for what some say is misappropriating $2.1 million in taxpayer money to build turf fields at the town swim club. Hinds, and his supporters, say he did nothing wrong and this all a political smear campaign. Hinds is being challenged by Independents Cathy Weber and Prakash Santhana.

Monmouth County GOP Stands By Holmdel Mayor Hinds Despite Censure
There's also the Holmdel school board election: Meet the candidates running for three open seats on the board.
Monmouth County Sheriff: Monmouth County Republican party boss Shaun Golden will seek to be re-elected for his fourth term as county sheriff. He is challenged by Democrat Raymond Dothard, a Millstone resident and veteran of the U.S. Navy, the APP reported. Golden made statewide headlines this year for defying the Murphy administration and continuing to work with ICE in the Monmouth County jail. Monmouth County Freeholder: The Republicans running are Freeholder Tom Arnone (incumbent) and Wall Township Committeeman Nick DiRocco. The Democrats are Moira Nelson and Michael Penna. At issue is odor from the Monmouth County landfill in Tinton Falls and whether the Monmouth County jail should continue to work with ICE. Read more about the issues.
New Jersey Assembly District 13: Holmdel sits in this district, and Republican incumbent Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso (and Holmdel resident) will seek to keep her seat. She'll be joined by former Middletown mayor and Monmouth County freeholder Republican Gerry Scharfenberger. If elected, this would be his first time as an assemblyman. The Democratic candidates are Allison Friedman, the president of the Matawan-Aberdeen school board, and Barbara Singer, a Holmdel attorney.
