Holmdel High School Planning In-Person Graduation
Per the gov's orders, it will be after July 6; details will be released once approval is given by state education department. So stay tuned.
HOLMDEL, NJ — The Holmdel school district is "working within the guidelines provided by the Department of Education and in concert with students" to plan an in-person graduation after July 6, outgoing superintendent Robert McGarry announced on Monday.
Details about Holmdel's graduation will be published once approval is granted by state education department, said McGarry. So stay tuned.
As Patch reported, McGarry announced on Friday that he is resigning from the Holmdel school district to take a job as assistant superintendent in Scotch Plains.

In the meantime, a group of Holmdel High senior parents and local first responders, led by Eric Herando from the Office of Emergency Management, sent this message of support to the Holmdel High School Class of 2020 on the grounds of Bell Works last week.
As Holmdel High principal Brian Schillaci, the superintendent and other watched, the first responders maneuvered their vehicles into the shape of a giant heart around a banner that read, “We [heart] our 2020 Senior Hornets.

A group of Holmdel parents have been working closely with the high school administration to find creative ways to keep student spirits high during this time. The first activity involved placing a sign on the lawn of each senior that read, “Honk! There’s a 2020 HS Senior Stuck Inside.”
