HOLDMEL, NJ — Holmdel police will be participating in New Jersey's largest annual drunk driving crackdown, running now through Labor Day weekend.
The 2019 “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” statewide Labor Day crackdown began August 16 and concludes on September 2. During the campaign, police across the state will conduct sobriety checkpoints and roving patrols will look for drivers who may be impaired by alcohol or drugs.
"As we head into the final weeks of summer and the busy Labor Day driving weekend, our officers will be stepping up efforts, working longer hours and increasing sobriety checks to keep intoxicated drivers off the road," said Eric Heitmann, director of the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety.
