Holmdel Man Charged With Distributing Heroin In Brick

Leo Foley, 37, from Holmdel, was driving a car Wednesday night in Brick that police said had 380 bags of heroin inside.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A Holmdel resident was arrested Wednesday night and charged with selling drugs, specifically heroin, in Brick Township.

The arrests come as Brick Township police are doing a crackdown on crime issues in the township.

Leo Foley, 37, pictured above, of Holmdel, was arrested just before 11 p.m. this past Wednesday, when Brick Patrolman Keven Docherty said he saw a dark-colored Chevy Impala that he learned was unregistered. Foley was driving the car.

Police pulled the car over and with the assistance of a police canine, officers found about 380 bags of heroin, among other contraband in the car, they said.

Foley was charged with second-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of paraphernalia, along with motor vehicle summonses for the motor vehicle violations.

Michael Lobue, 39, of Brick, who was in the car was charged with second-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a prescription legend drug, amphetamine/dextroamphetamine.

A third man, Jamie Crippen, 26, of Brick was arrested Thursday morning on an outstanding warrant after leaving his home in the Evergreen Woods Condominium Complex in Brick. Crippen had been under surveillance in an investigation; after his arrest, a search warrant was executed at his home that turned up cocaine, marijuana, a digital scale and packaging materials. More than $1,000 was seized as being suspected proceeds from distributing a controlled dangerous substance.

All three are being held at the Ocean County Jail awaiting detention hearings.
