Holmdel: Police Chase Men Who Stole Car From Home
A pair of thieves broke into cars on Winthrop Drive, Bryce Road, Lucarelli Drive and Foxhunt Road on Saturday, Nov. 9, said police.
HOLMDEL, NJ — A pair of suspects stole a car from a Holmdel driveway Saturday morning, returned it and then drove off in another stolen car, said Holmdel police.
The suspects, a pair of men, were also confronted by a landscaper working on a Holmdel property and were briefly pursued by police, who lost them as they were headed north on the Garden State Parkway.
The dramatic turn of events started at 7:25 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 when Holmdel police got a call for a car burglary on Winthrop Drive and an attempted car burglary on Bryce Road. The homeowner said that at 5:47 a.m., two black male suspects entered their unlocked vehicles in their driveway. The suspects then took a white Dodge Ram truck, but returned it at approximately 5:57 a.m., and then left the area in a blue SUV.

Security footage from Bryce Road showed the same suspects attempt to enter two parked cars at about 5:25 a.m.; both those cars were locked and they could not get in.
Then at 9:45 a.m. a homeowner on Lucarelli Drive reported two black male suspects removed the car cover from a vehicle in his driveway, but were confronted by a landscaper, and fled in the same blue SUV as the one stole earlier.

At 10:07 a.m. Holmdel police spotted the blue SUV traveling on Telegraph Hill Road; however, the vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed and the officers were unable to locate it. The suspect vehicle was last seen on the Garden State Parkway heading north at exit 117. This vehicle, a 2017 Ford Edge, (NJ Reg E30JNJ) was found to have been reported stolen from Belle Mead, NJ.
A resident of Foxhunt Road reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and had stolen personal items. A review of security cameras in the neighborhood revealed two male suspects walking in the area at approximately 6:15 a.m. Saturday.
