Holmdel Police Make Narcan Save Saturday Night

Breaking: Holmdel police had to use Narcan over the weekend to save a man from an opiate overdose on Chestnut Ridge Road.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Holmdel police had to use Narcan over the weekend to save a man from an opiate overdose on Chestnut Ridge Road. Holmdel police responded to a 911 call just after midnight on Saturday, July 29. They responded to a Chestnut Ridge Road residence on the report of a possible drug overdose. Upon arrival, officers discovered the male victim inside a locked bathroom.

Officers were required to force entry into the bathroom, where they found the 30-year-old man unresponsive and not breathing. Police said they saw evidence of drug use and gave the man Narcan along with rescue breathing. The Holmdel First Aid Squad also arrived on location and provided further treatment.

The man regained consciousness while on scene and was transported to Bayshore Medical Center. His condition at this time is unknown.

Holmdel police had to use Narcan multiple times so far this year:

Saturday's incident was the second time Holmdel police had to administer Narcan this month: On Saturday, July 8, a woman was found unresponsive and foaming at the mouth in a home on Hemlock Lane and had to be revived with Narcan. July 8: Holmdel Woman Saved With Narcan

Ptl. James Archinaco, Ptl. Matthew Menosky, Ptl. Brian O’Keefe and Ptl. James Herlihy were the officers involved in the incident this past Saturday night.
