HOLMDEL, NJ - Holmdel police are looking for a man who allegedly threatened store security at a Holmdel Kohl’s location last week.

In a Monday social media post, the Holmdel Township Police Department reported two incidents at the Route 35 location on the same day:

On Oct. 8, an “out of control” male subject was reportedly threatening to fight store security while “acting disorderly” at the store, according to the department. The subject was described as a Black/Hispanic male wearing a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes and in possession of a bicycle.

The subject fled on foot before police arrived at the scene around 6 p.m., according to The Journal NJ.

A second incident occurred the same day but was not reported until Oct. 9, in which a Kohl’s patrons observed a male subject wearing a gray sweatshirt exit the bushes at the front of the store. As the witness parked their car, the subject opened the vehicle’s rear passenger door, stuck his head inside the car and looked around.

There was a young child in the backseat that was unharmed, according to police. One of the occupants of the vehicle had a “brief physical confrontation with the suspect,” and the subject eventually left the area on foot.

The victims in this incident described the subject as being a white male. A review of surveillance footage from the store revealed that the subject was seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the events are asked to contact the Holmdel Township Police Department at (732) 946-4400.
