New Hire For Holmdel Public Schools

Dineen Seeley, currently the superintendent of Sea Girt schools, is tasked with implementing a new offering for 9th graders this fall.

HOLMDEL, NJ - At its meeting last Wednesday, the Holmdel Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Dineen Seeley as the district’s new Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

This is a new position and was created after Holmdel schools superintendent Robert McGarry made the decision to eliminate the assistant superintendent job. Before he became superintendent, Dr. McGarry was the assistant superintendent, but he said the decision allowed the school district to use the money in a more focused manner.

Her salary will be $145,000. Seeley was previously the superintendent of Sea Girt schools, and was also a principal there.

Under her leadership, Sea Girt was recently recognized by the Monmouth County freeholders as one of the top performing schools in the state in terms of PARCC outcomes, tied for first place in grades 3-5 and second overall in the middle school grades. During her years in Sea Girt, Seeley is credited with developing STEM classes for students in grades 1-5.

As Holmdel's Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Seeley will also oversee the World Languages and Arts departments, and five content-focused administrators, including Supervisor of Humanities, Supervisor of Math and Science, Supervisor of Gifted and Talented and Supplemental Programs, Supervisor of Athletics, Health, Physical Education and the Supervisor of Technology, Engineering and Media Centers.

She expects to earn her doctoral degree from St. Peters University this spring and starts in July.
