Hazlet Man ID'd As Person Killed In Holmdel Crash Tuesday Night
Breaking: A Hazlet man was killed at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday in a car crash at the intersection of Palmer Avenue and Tanners Landing Way condos.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A Hazlet man has been identified as the person killed Tuesday night in a car crash on the Holmdel-Middletown border. The crash happened at the intersection of Palmer Avenue and Tanners Landing Way, which leads into a condo community.
The fatal crash happened at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday: William Dillon, 50, of Hazlet, was driving his car southbound on Palmer Ave. when he struck a curb on the southbound side of the road and veered into the opposing lane, Holmdel police said. His car was then struck by a car traveling north.
Dillon was pronounced dead at the scene. The person driving the other car, Ruth Allen, a 68-year-old Union Beach woman, was transported to Riverview Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Middletown and Holmdel Fire and First Aid Squads, Monoc Paramedics and the Middletown Fire Police assisted at the scene. Palmer Avenue was closed in both directions for approximately four hours Tuesday night due to the investigation.
