Raritan Valley School Reports 1 Positive COVID-19 Case
An individual 'associated' with Raritan Valley Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19, district officials announced Monday.

HAZLET, NJ - One individual associated with Raritan Valley Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19, district officials said this week.
In a Monday morning message posted to the district website, officials informed that contact tracing has already been completed and all close contacts have been notified, if necessary, to quarantine immediately. Sanitization of all exposed areas in the building is underway.
“Cleaning and disinfecting of all exposed areas and equipment is being carried out,” the district said Monday. “We understand the level of concern regarding COVID-19.”

Earlier this month, two cases at Raritan Valley Elementary School shuttered the school for two weeks. Students followed a remote schedule from Oct. 5 through Oct. 16. Read more: 2 COVID-19 Cases Shut Down In-Person Classes At Hazlet School
Two positive cases were reported at Raritan High School last week.

Last weekend, a contractor associated with Lillian Drive School also tested positive for COVID-19.

District families are encouraged to continue following recommended safeguards, such as:
- Staying home when you are sick
- Washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds
- Covering coughs and sneezes and properly disposing of tissues
- Limiting close contact with people who are sick and not sharing food, drinks and utensils
- Practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart)
- Wearing a face covering while in school
- Continuing to monitor your health for symptoms
If students exhibit any signs and symptoms of COVID-19, parents are asked to contact their child's physician and the school nurse. Families should also notify the school nurse if a child tests positive for COVID-19.
