Rep. Frank Pallone: Remove Trump 'As Quickly As Possible'
The congressman called the president a threat that "should be removed as quickly as possible through any legal means necessary."

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In a series of tweets on Thursday, New Jersey Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) called for the swift removal of President Donald J. Trump, a removal which should be handled "as quickly as possible through any legal means necessary.”
Pallone's remarks come after a mob of Pro-Trump supporters forced their way inside the Capitol building Wednesday afternoon after the president continued to repeat his false claims that the general election was fraudulent. The rioters temporarily halted the certification of Joe Biden as the next president of the United States.
One person was shot and the vice president and members of Congress fled to safety as the mob smashed windows to get inside and took over the halls of Congress. Read more: Trump Mob Attacks Capitol; 4 Deaths; 69 Arrests; FBI Seeks Tips

Trump tweeted Wednesday afternoon "asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!"
A growing number of lawmakers have since called for the president be removed from office. A resolution to impeach Trump has been co-sponsored by a list of members of congress, including 12th Congressional District Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman.

On Thursday, Pallone also called for the permanent removal of the president from a string of social media platforms “given the danger and Trump’s history of using the platforms to spread disinformation and incite violence."
“12 and 24-hour 'time-outs' ignore the damage Trump has done and threat he is to our democracy,” Pallone wrote. “Given the danger and Trump's history of using the platforms to spread disinformation and incite violence, @Jack [Dorsey] and Mark Zuckerberg must permanently remove Trump from their platforms.”
Pallone is a Democratic congressman who has represented New Jersey's Sixth Congressional district since 1998. The sixth district stretches from Carteret and Woodbridge into Edison, New Brunswick and down to Asbury Park. It hugs the Bayshore coastline, including towns such as Aberdeen, Matawan, Hazlet, Sea Bright and West Long Branch.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed Thursday that the company will block Trump on all its platforms, including Instagram, according to the New York Times. The ban will extend “indefinitely,” at least until the end of the president’s term on Jan. 20.
“Over the last several years, we have allowed President Trump to use our platform consistent with our own rules, at times removing content or labeling his posts when they violate our policies,” Zuckerberg said in a post. “We did this because we believe that the public has a right to the broadest possible access to political speech, even controversial speech. But the current context is now fundamentally different, involving use of our platform to incite violent insurrection against a democratically elected government.”
Amid the news of Trump’s Facebook removal, Pallone called for a similar response from Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey: “Good. I’m glad Facebook is finally taking the violence Trump incites on its platform seriously,” Pallone wrote Thursday afternoon, referring to an article announcing Facebook’s Trump block. “What about you, @Jack?”

Twitter has suspended Trump's account for 12 hours over falsehoods regarding election fraud, according to a statement from the platform. The company noted that the tweets were "repeated and severe violations of our Civic Integrity policy and, if Trump violated their rules again, his account would be permanently banned.
