
The VooDUDES will be performing on Thursday, August 8 from 7-9 p.m. as Middletown's popular Summer Concert Series continues at the Middletown Arts Center located at 36 Church Street. Presented by the Middletown Township Cultural and Arts Council and the Middletown Recreation Department, the free entertainment is always widely-anticipated by the community. The family-friendly, outdoor concerts are held on the MAC's Northern Lawn and free parking is on-site. Club MAC with Miss Maria will provide arts activities for the kids. The VooDUDES play a unique blend of New Orleans funk, blues, boogie-woogie, honky-tonk, Zydeco, Southern soul and Caribbean party music. The band has been featured in numerous festivals, including The Red Bank Jazz and Blues Festival, Philadelphia's Jambalaya Jam, New York's Benson & Hedges Blues Festival and Ft. Lauderdale's Crazy Crawfish Fest. They have performed from Montreal, Canada to New Orleans, LA and have also toured Europe. The VooDUDES consist of Dave Ambrosy on vocals and drums; Gary Ambrosy on vocals and guitar; Andy B on vocals, harmonica, percussion and rubboard; Fred Saunders on bass and beads; and John Pittas on keyboard and accordion. The next and final concert in the series will be held on Thursday, August 22nd featuring Rave On. Rave On! performs the music of Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison, playing hits like “That’ll Be The Day,” “Peggy Sue,” and “Not Fade Away,” along with other early rock and roll classics. Rave On! is always a crowd pleaser, as the timeless classics the band performs appeal to all ages. The band consists of guitarist and lead vocalist Chris Roselle; bassist and background vocalist Pete Farley; and drummer and background vocalist Don Guinta.
