1 Seriously Injured in 2-Car Crash on Sparta Avenue, Cops Say
Pickup truck veers over double yellow lines, smashing into sedan Tuesday morning, police report.

A two-car crash in Sparta Tuesday morning left two vehicles totaled and put one man in the hospital with serious injuries, according to Sparta Township Police.
Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Sparta Avenue and found Thomas Perry, 30, of Sussex, was travelling south on the roadway when he was struck by a pickup truck heading northbound, Sgt. Dennis Proctor said.
The pickup truck, carrying equipment, was operated by Michael Kimberling, 62, of Tennessee. Proctor said Kimberling veered over the double yellow lines and entered the southbound lane, striking Perry’s Hyundai Elantra.

Perry was taken to Morristown Medical Center with serious head and internal injuries.
Kimberling was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to keep right and failure to maintain lane.

The accident is still under investigation.
