Jersey City man pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, won't be parole eligible for 17 years, report says.

The Jersey City man who drove drunk with too many people in his car, crashed, and ended up killing three family members was sentenced to 20 years in state prison Friday.
Luis Torres, 38, must serve 17 years without the eligibility of parole for the August 2013 crime, nj.com reported.
Torres left a family barbecue in his 2002 Ford Explorer in Lake Tomahawk in Sparta Township on Aug. 24, 2013 when he had eight passengers in his vehicle, including children.

Tests after the crash showed Torres’ blood-alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit. The driver admitted he was going too fast on Route 15 in Jefferson Township, swerved, and crashed the vehicle.
As a result of the crash, Torres’s mother-in-law, Lucila Colon, 37; stepdaughter Tevia Booth, 11; and Julissa Colon, 36, along with her unborn baby, all died.
