50 Mailboxes Smashed By Drunk Men In Hopatcong: Police
The men were charged with criminal mischief for damaging mailboxes during their drunk walk home, police said.

HOPATCONG, NJ — Over 50 mailboxes were smashed by two drunk men in Hopatcong on News Year's Day, Hopatcong Police said.
William Russell, 21, and James Cranmer, 21, were arrested and charged with criminal mischief for damage done to over 25 mailboxes (some were not damaged enough to warrant charges, Capt. Tom Kmetz said).
According to police, the two men left Pavinci's bar in the early-morning hours of Jan. 1, and "decided to kick, punch and throw mail out of mailboxes" as they walked home along Lakeside Blvd, Durban Road and Sharps Rock Road.

Police ask that anyone with a damaged mailbox who has not yet spoken to police call Officer Cirri at (973 ) 398-5000. Victims should check around their mailboxes for missing mail, and be mindful of missing bills.
