It was blood money. The good kind.
The Hopatcong Band Parents Association's late April blood drive at the Hopatcong Seniors Citzens Center brought in 53 pints from 47 people. Some donors made Alyx donations, allowing them to also donate platelets and plasma.
The association received around $400 from the Blood Center of New Jersey. The breakdown: 30 pints, $300. An additional $50 for 10 pints more.

"We did very well," association member Lisa Willis said.
