Body Found Behind North Jersey Pizzeria

The body was discovered behind Newton Pizza on Saturday by a person making a delivery to the restaurant, according to reports.

Police say they are investigating the death of a North Jersey man whose body was found in a parking lot behind a pizzeria on Saturday.

The body of Thomas Thum, 53, was discovered behind Newton Pizza around 6:30 a.m. Saturday by a person making a delivery to the restaurant, according to the North Jersey Herald.

A joint investigation by the Newton police and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office is ongoing and the medical examiner will conduct a postmortem examination, according to the report.

The cause of death is pending the outcome of an autopsy, nj.com reported.

“There is no cause for public alarm,” Newton police reported on Facebook. “Further information will be released once available after continued investigation.”
