Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops Day Trip

Lots of outdoors gear will make the drive worth it for many.

Cabela’s Route 22/78 Hamburg, Pa. ... Bass Pro Shops Harrisburg, Pa.

Ok so you have some time to kill but the weather is going to be bad for your day off. Spice up the day with a trip to Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops; this is sure to be a fun filled, information packed day of fishing and hunting delights.

Start off early from your home and plan to be there at the store opening time. You will need the time to cover both stores. Start at Cabela’s large gun department and see if they have the new rifle or shotgun of your dreams. (Only Pa. residents can purchase handguns in Pa.). Then visit their gun collectors area; it will have you drooling over guns that are just downright pretty. Bring the camera and get plenty of photos. I say start at the gun department because if you purchase a new gun, the process takes awhile and you can continue shopping while the paperwork is completed with no loss of time.

Then it’s on to the rest of the store: fishing, camping, archery, clothing and boats and marine accessories and motors. View the mountain and all the game mounts and trout stream for a great picture of some big trout.

Visit the Big Buck Trophy Room to get the heart pumping; I never thought deer got that big.

Then it’s on to view the huge fish tank, stocked with stripers, Catfish and Large Mouths along with a host of Pan Fish. It will make you want to get out and fish even more after viewing the size of these guys.

Enjoy the Cabela’s and then it’s on to Bass Pro Shops for their view of the outdoor world and its products. It will be well worth the drive to Harrisburg. Have a great day and enjoy!
