Some of the finest crabbing in years have been available to the shore and boat fisherman throughout their entire range. The Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers have been producing crabs of 6 to 8 inches since the start of August. Now these are big crabs in any state and deserve a full day of your time. Expect to catch near bushel full limits on your outing. The Inter coastal waterway has also been producing from Point Pleasant down to Atlantic City with hot spots being the route 72 causeway areas and the Mullica River. Get out the in the next few weeks to take advantage of this great season and provide for some good eating for your friends and family!!

Old Bay Seasoning
Whole lemons sliced in two

Crushed Red Pepper
A few cans of beer (2 -3) (your favorite type)
Apple Cider or White Vinegar about two cups, three won’t hurt
Sea salt to taste
Bay leaves (5 to 7 leaves)
Crushed Rosemary (about 1 Tablespoon)
Add crabs to pot pour ½ the beer over them add spices and lemon pour remainder of liquids over the crabs. Cover and steam for about 20 to 25 minutes. Spread newspapers on table and spread out the crabs. Break open your favorite beverage and enjoy the feast. Any crabs left over can be cleaned and used in a tomato sauce and spaghetti diner.
