Father's Day - Fishing the Salt

Fathers Day Fishing

Saltwater fishing is really great in the Raritan Bay area, Stripers, Blues, Fluke and even Weakfish are on the move in the bays and within 3 to 5 miles of the coast. Fluke fishing has produced monsters size fish of over 10 pounds. The weather for the upcoming week looks to be really good with light winds and plenty of sunshine. Sounds like a great time to take some time off and enjoy the fishing. Try using squid/gulp combo’s or even small snapper blues 4 to 6 inches to hook the fluke of a lifetime. The area off Sandy Hook near the Coast Guard Station has been really productive along with the area near Spermacetti Cove and The Island/Monument Grounds. Strippers are out of the Hudson but the Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers have some nice fish as well as fish at the Shrewsbury Rocks and the Sandy Hook Reef. While fishing at the Rocks and Reef take advantage of the bottom fishing to round out your catch.

Enjoy Fathers day with a day of fishing with the family, it will be time well spent and provide hours of enjoyment and memories.

Happy Fathers Day!!!!
