Brown Out Hits Hopatcong Wednesday Morning

HOPATCONG, NJ — A brown out has hit Hopatcong Wednesday morning, Hopatcong Police Capt. Tom Kmetz said. It appears to be affecting most of Hopatcong.

"It's not your house," Kmetz wrote, saying police have received multiple reports. Residents should call their power supplier to report any power issues, Kmetz said.

A brown out is when energy is limited, versus the no-energy conditions of a black out. It was not clear when power might return to normal in the area.
