Cat in the Hat Surprises Hopatcong Kids

Tulsa Trail celebrates "Read Across America" and Dr. Seuss' birthday.

The following is from .

The students at Tulsa Trail school were given a pleasant surprise on Thursday, February 9th.  The Cat in the Hat made a stop at the school.  This was to kick off "Read Across America"  program and to celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday.  This program encourages students to read more both in and out of school.  The visit was preceded by a reading of the book, "The Cat in the Hat" by Pat Pietrzak, Speech-Language Specialist and Aria Moreno, a 3rd grade student in Mrs. Stanavitch's class.  After that, the students, who lined the hallways, were greeted by a 7' tall Cat in the Hat.  All the students cheered as he high-fived them.  The motto this year at Tulsa Trail is "We're building good readers and leaders".
