Cops: Men Tried Selling Crack, Heroin Outside Sussex County School

Sussex Borough residents lodged on $53,000 bail each, report says.

Two Sussex Borough residents have been jailed and charged with various drug offenses after police say they attempted selling heroin and crack cocaine outside an elementary school Monday night.

A narcotics investigation by the Franklin Police Department led to Logan Zeigler, 23, and John Hall, 27, having sold heroin and crack cocaine around the area, njherald.com reported.

Police arrested the duo near the Hardyston Elementary School Monday around 7:45 p.m., the report said, and were found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of heroin and crack cocaine, both packaged for sale, as well as various drug paraphernalia.

At the time of the arrest, the school was hosting parent-teacher conferences, the report says.

Zeigler and Hall were both charged with distribution of heroin, distribution of heroin in a school zone, possession of heroin, distribution of crack cocaine, distribution of crack cocaine in a school zone, possession of crack cocaine, possession drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles and use of heroin and crack cocaine.

Each was lodged on $53,000 bail with no 10-percent option. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may take place, the report said.
