SPARTA, NJ — Two men were arrested after 55 folds of "death wish" heroin were found in a Sparta car Monday afternoon, Sparta police said.
Jonathan Rivera, 32, of Sussex and Fabian Rodriguez, 43, of Budd Lake, were arrested after police say they found dozens of wax folds of heroin, a filled syringe, and empty heroin folds during a traffic stop Monday afternoon.

While talking to the pair, officers said they noticed "fresh, bloody track marks" on Rodriguez's arm. Officers asked Rivera to step out of the car, and say a hypodermic syringe fell out of his shoe as he did.
A search of the car turned up 55 folds of heroin stamped with a "death wish" logo, empty packets of heroin, and a filled hypodermic syringe, police said.

Both men were arrested and taken to police headquarters, where police say Rodriguez took responsibility for all the drugs, except the needed in Rivera's shoe. Both men said they'd done heroin while driving, police said.
Rivera was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drugs in a car, and traffic offenses. He was released with an upcoming court date.
Rodriguez was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle. He also had active warrants out of Providence and Parsippany. He was lodged in the Keogh Dwyer Correctional Facility due to his prior criminal history.
