"If this young man was alone this incident may have had a very bad ending," Hopatcong Police said. The teen was riding with his brother.

HOPATCONG, NJ— A teenager was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital after a serious dirt bike accident, Hopatcong Police said in a statement.

A 15-year-old was thrown from his bike while riding with his brother in the woods near Brooklyn Mountain Road on April 15. He was thrown while riding over a dirt mound, and landed on the handle bars.

The handle bars pierce the teen's abdomen. His brother kept pressure on the area until the Hopatcong Ambulance squad could locate the pair. He was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital.

"If this young man was alone this incident may have had a very bad ending. If you can ride with someone, do so," Hopatcong Lt.
