Drunk Driver Launches Car Down Hopatcong Embankment, Cops Say
Hopatcong man did not need medical attention, police report.

A Hopatcong man was charged with driving while intoxicated after police found him and his car some 40-feet down an embankment, Hopatcong Police said.
Police responded to a call of a vehicle that went over an embankment just before midnight on Nov. 12 on Lakeside Avenue and found Arnt Walaas, 42, Lt. Thomas Kmetz said.
When police arrived they found Walaas, who said he was fine despite the crash, and open beer cans and an open bottle of vodka near the vehicle, Kmetz said. Walaas was then arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after submitting an Alcotest.

No other cars were hit and no one else was hurt as a result of the incident.
