Drunk Teen Drove Into Tree: Hopatcong Police

The teen broke his femur, police said.

HOPATCONG, NJ — A teenager was arrested after he drove into a tree while drunk, Hopatcong police said.

Jack Wood Jr., 19, was arrested on Nov. 29 after police say he crashed his car while drunk. Wood allegedly drove to the top of the Civic Center fields; he lost control driving down and struck a tree, police said.

Police say there were two beer bottles in the truck, and that Wood had been drinking.

Wood suffered a broken femur bone and was taken to Morristown Hospital for treatment.

He was arrested and charged with, DWI, DWI underage, DWI in a school zone, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, driving while suspended, careless driving, bald tires, no insurance, and possession of alcohol while underage.
