Dukes of Hazard ‘Hood-Slide’ Gone Wrong Ends In Sparta Man's Arrest: Police
One "spur of the moment" act landed a Sparta man with an upcoming court date, police said.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ— A Sparta man's goofing around on a parked car landed him in jail after Hackettstown police found multiple warrants for him, police said.
John Ortiz, 23, of Sparta, jumped on the hood of a parked car while walking with friends, sliding across it in a move police described as a "Dukes of Hazard 'hood-slide' gone wrong." When Ortiz spotted a police officer, he ran away.
Police caught up with Ortiz, who allegedly told police it was a "spur of the moment" decision, police said.

During an investigation police uncovered a $500 Morristown municipal court criminal warrant and a $150 Montclair municipal court traffic warrant.
He was released on both warrants pending a court appearance, and charged with disorderly conduct for sliding across the car.
