Hopatcong schools Superintendent Dr. Charles Maranzano said he expects Durban Avenue School to open Monday.
A transformer was hanging by its power lines near Durban Avenue and Bergen Trail—just outside the school's enterance. While Hopatcong's schools returned to class Friday after four straight days off, Durban Avenue remained closed Friday.
Maranzano said he met with Mayor Sylvia Petillo and Department of Public Works Superintendent Ron Jobeless Friday afternoon as Jersey Central Power & Light was repairing the leaning electric pole and transformer.

"The last of the repairs have been done on Durban and Bergen," Maranzano said. "I expect that Monday we should have Durban Avenue open as long as all the rest of the schools. It will be fully operational Monday."
