Elba Point is wonderful place to raise kids, to retire, to live...

That's what I have learned since I moved here. Crossing the River Styx Bridge is still breathtaking, even after 37 years of doing so every day. Even after 37 years of living in the same house, most of my neighbors have been here longer than I have. Why? In a world of portable, temporary everything, this is a little bit of stability and permanence. It is what you make it. I have read the criticisms, the scathing condemnations of the town and its people. These are not the people that I know and it is not the town that I live in. The civic organizations that I belong to are filled with people who are working to make Hopatcong a safe, productive and pleasant place to call home.
