Employment Horizons begins 60th Anniversary year welcoming New Board Members

Community member joins non-profit board

Employment Horizons kicked off 2017 and its 60th year of service providing job skills training, placement and support to individuals with disabilities at its Annual Trustee Dinner held on January 25th at H2Ocean, Cedar Knolls, N.J.

Trustees, joined by Employment Horizons’ Management Staff, volunteers and supporters, recognized outgoing Board Members Ben Ferri and Gary Mauro while welcoming Arla Cahill, Esq., Paul Dolce and Allen Lane as new members of the Board.

Arla Cahill, an attorney for over twenty years, is a member of Mandelbaum Salsburg, P.C. in Roseland, N.J., and is Co-Chair of the firm’s Special Needs Practice Group, representing individuals with disabilities and their families. Cahill has a passion for helping disabled individuals achieve self-sufficiency, dignity and happiness as productive members of their communities. “As an advocate for the objectives of Employment Horizons, I am honored to be a part of this distinguished organization and look forward to raising public awareness of and financial support for Employment Horizons’ worthy mission.”

Allen Lane, CPA is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Solix in Parsippany, N.J. An accounting professional with over 20 years diversified experience in accounting, business management, audit and business valuation, Mr. Lane will serve on the Finance Committee. “I was highly impressed by Employment Horizons and the opportunities they provide for their workforce and would like to contribute towards the strategy for growth of the company – especially in new markets.”

Paul Dolce, the General Manager of Dolce Hotels and Resorts, Basking Ridge looks forward to doing what he can to contribute to the great work of Employment Horizons. "As the parents of a 16 year old son, my wife and I have taken an active interest in the livelihoods and well- being of people with special needs and disabilities. Since being introduced to Employment Horizons, I have been extremely impressed and heartened by the fantastic work of the organization, as well as its incredible impact on the disabled community. It gives hope to parents like us and the many others who struggle with special needs, that there are opportunities for employment that will allow for a much improved quality of life and sense of pride that comes with having an occupation. I look forward to doing what I can to contribute to the great work of Employment Horizons."

The Board also elected the 2017 slate of officers as follows: Marion Cooper, President, Frank Crippen, Vice President, Jack Cox, Treasurer and Cecelia Kennedy, Secretary. Long-standing Board member Nancy Delaney was elected to a third three-year term.
