Hilltop Middle Schoolers Elect Student Council Leaders
The middle school students at Hilltop Country Day School elected the 2015-16 Student Council on September 25.

The middle school students at Hilltop Country Day School participated in the democratic process on September 25 by electing the 2015-16 student council.
President Karina Frangella and Vice President Abby Morris tallied the votes for the grades 5-8 class representatives and revealed the results at Hilltop’s Upper School Divisional Meeting. Hilltop’s Upper School is comprised of the middle school grades 5-8.
Nicholas Arapkiles was elected class representative for grade 5, Ilyssa Gibson for grade 6, Jessica Wilm for grade 7, and Cade Hoover and Justin Cooper for grade 8.

At the first meeting of the council, President Frangella appointed Cade Hoover to serve as the council’s treasurer and Jessica Wilm as secretary.
“Having students experience and hone their leadership skills in an academic environment is incredibly important as it emphasizes key aspects of 21st century skills such as analytical thinking and reasoning, as well as collaboration,” said Head of School Peter Gordon. “Hilltop prides itself on graduating students who excel in leadership, and this is but one of the many opportunities our students have available to them.”

Hilltop was recognized as a 2015 Gold Council of Excellence and plans to continue several successful annual events including a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit a local food pantry and a holiday toy drive for Project Self-Sufficiency.
Hilltop Country Day School is an independent private day school coeducational in preschool through grade 8.
