Hopatcong Kids Use Technology, Spread Cheer
Tulsa Trail class participates in nationwide event.

The following is from second-grade teacher Andrea Mancuso.
The students in Mrs. Mancuso's class have been very anxious for the mail to arrive each day. The class is participating in a country-wide
event to spread some holiday cheer. The theme is "Snowmen" and the students in Room 16 are sending and receiving greeting cards around the country. The students are participating in the holiday card exchange with 24 other school districts. Last week, the students
prepared their greeting cards and filled them with special information
about their class and state. As they receive their greeting cards from the other states, they are identifying and tracking each state on a map. During the week of December 19th, the students will use GoogleEarth to visit some of the schools that they received greetings from. A display outside the classroom includes a map and the holiday cards. It has proven to be a fun, engaging way for students to lean more about different states, as well as giving the students the chance to spread some holiday cheer!
