Hopatcong Posts HS Principal Opening

Here's what the district says it wants.

The Hopatcong school district voted unanimously to shuffle its principals Monday, moving four of the five to different schools and opening the position.

Former Prinicipal will take a curriculum supervisor post while Principal Tracey Hensz will stay put. High school Principal Emil Binotto will head to the in the fall while the prinicpal of that school, Louis Benfatti, goes to . Brian Byrne will shift to . Click for the full story behind the moves.

The high school principal is a high profile position evaluating, supervising, and inspiring an established and successful program in Hopatcong Borough Public Schools. The high school principal serves as the administrative leader and is responsible for all aspects of the educational program. A strong background and proven interest in academics, student activities, fine and performing arts, and sports programs is essential. The candidate must have a successful track record in instructional leadership and curriculum and have a proven history of collaboration and consensus building at the secondary school level. A student centered leader is desired who understands the complexities of balancing student affairs, student discipline, use of technology, curricular innovation, and effective interpersonal relationships with the staff and community.

High school administrative experience is preferred with the candidate holding appropriate NJ State DOE Principal Certification. A master’s degree or beyond in educational leadership and five years of administrative experience is preferred. Please submit a resume, letters of recommendation, certification, and any other supporting documentation by June 8th. Interviews will follow initial screening of applicants. Position available July 1, 2012.

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.
