HOPATCONG, NJ — The Hopatcong Pound Project has received a $1,000 donation from New Jersey American Water through the company's "Mayor's Charity of Choice" raffle program.

The nonprofit, which rescues and cares for feral, unadoptable, and FIV-positive cats in the Hopatcong community, was selected by Hopatcong Mayor Marie Galate after she won the opportunity to designate a local charity at the New Jersey Conference of Mayors.

The donation will help support the organization's ongoing mission to provide care and shelter for vulnerable cats in the community.
