Hopatcong Schools Honor Longtime Staff

Employees get service awards for reaching milestones.

Hopatcong will honor staff members who have spent large portions—or in some cases, all—of their careers within the school district Thursday.

The staff members will have reached either their 15-, 20-, 25-, 30- or 40-year marks. None will have reached year No. 35.

"Our teachers are incredibly dedicated and valuable to the lives of our young students and to this emerging democracy that we're preparing them for," Hopatcong schools Superintendent Dr. Charles Maranzano said. "So those who have chosen teaching as a profession deserve to be recognized for their years of service. And I praise and applaud and am humbled by those who are receiving these service awards because it validates their purpose in life and their chosen profession and their mission to make a difference in the life of children."
