Hopatcong Student Nets National Scholarship

Samantha Madar receives $500 from Just Give Back foundation.

Monday night, Just Give Back announced that Samantha Madar of was awarded a 2012 national Just Give Back scholarship. Madar, awarded a $500 scholarship, was selected from a qualified pool of applicants in her school. Just Give Back recognizes graduating seniors across the Country with a strong commitment to civic participation through their involvement in community service.

Samantha Madar has given her time back to the community by volunteering with Hopatcong Municipal Alliance, Community Trials and Intervention, Safety Town project, Battle of the Bands, Golf Parents Association, and Project Graduation 2012. A member of the National Honor Society, Samantha has successfully completed honors level courses in all content areas. She stands out in her class for her academic ability and self discipline. Ms. Madar’s character, honesty and high ethical standards are unique in her class, leading her to be an excellent role model to her peers.

“I’d like to congratulate Samantha on this scholarship award,” said Kevin Lundy, Founder of Just Give Back and 1995 Hopatcong High graduate. “Samantha has exemplified a commitment to civic participation through continually helping tend to the needs of her community.”

Samantha will be attending Farleigh Dickinson University this fall.

Since 2008, Just Give Back has awarded thousands of dollars to deserving graduates who truly understand the meaning of giving back and have volunteered their time and dedication within the community. Just Give Back remains committed to its goal of awarding scholarships in all 50 states over the next several years.

About Just Give Back

Just Give Back is a national charitable fund aimed at providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate a strong commitment to civic participation through their involvement in community service. Scholarship recipients are graduating seniors with a recommended 20-30 hours of community service during the school year. Funds come from individuals, nonprofits and corporations committed to giving back and rewarding deserving graduates for their service. Just Give Back is incorporated as a charitable fund under the Community Foundation of Louisville.
