Hopatcong students will learn the significance of Veterans Day, even if it's a few days after the holiday.
has a big assembly planned for its second- and third-grade students Monday at 10 a.m. at the auditorium. Veterans will watch a presentation created by students and teachers, and then join the children in their classrooms to talk about serving in America's armed forces.
"It's part of our history," Principal Dr. Joanne Mullane said. "It's nice to honor our veterans. That's what this country—that's what makes America what it is today. … Our whole school has taken on a celebration of our heroes."
