UPDATED: Kovach to Passes State Teacher of the Year Title
Danielle Kovach, a Tulsa Trail third-grade special-education teacher, was the 2010-2011 New Jersey Teacher of the Year. On Wednesday, a new teacher took her role.

Danielle Kovach posted the following on her New Jersey Teacher of the Year Facebook page:
"Congratulations to Jeanne DelColle, our new 2011-2012 New Jersey State Teacher of the Year!"

That came around the same time the state Department of Education put out a release announcing DelColle's win, which included a statement from Gov. Chris Christie. DelColle is a social studies techer at the Westampton campus of the Burlington County Institute of Technology. Click here for more on DelColle.

It's time to pass the title.
Danielle Kovach will end her run as the state's Teacher of the Year on Wednesday. Kovach, a third-grade special education teacher, last October for her innovative classroom ideas and knack for garnering grants.
The new Teacher of the Year will be crowned at the state's Board of Education meeting.
