Learn about Agriculture & Horticulture Careers at a Free Seminar

Teens and adults can learn about occupations in the dynamic fields of agriculture and horticulture at a free seminar.

A free seminar about careers in the dynamic fields of agriculture and horticulture will be offered to teens and adults on Thursday, May 28th, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Project Self-Sufficiency. Kathy Cafasso, Program Director at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, will be joined by beekeeper Debbie Cowell and Ideal Farm & Garden owner Jan Jorristma for a discussion of the background, education and the tasks that accompany careers in the fields of agriculture, horticulture and related occupations. Questions from the audience will be welcome. “Becoming You: Agriculture & Horticulture Careers” will touch on vocations in the fields of crop farming, cattle raising, community supported agriculture, gardening, beekeeping, business ownership, and more. The seminar is free and open to teens and adults, but registration is required. Interested participants are encouraged to call 973-940-3500 to register. Project Self-Sufficiency is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.
