Learn about History & Archaeology Careers at a Free Seminar

Local historians and archaeologists will discuss their careers at a free seminar for teens and adults offered by Project Self-Sufficiency.

A free seminar about careers in the dual fields of history and archaeology will be offered to teens and adults on Thursday, April 30th, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Project Self-Sufficiency. Gregory Lattanzi, Assistant Curator, Bureau of Archaeology and Ethnography at the Newark State Museum, will be joined by archivist, author and historian Merritt Ierley and Sussex County historian, author and lecturer Wayne McCabe for a discussion of the background, education and the tasks that accompany careers in the fields of history and archaeology. Questions from the audience will be welcome. “Becoming You: History & Archaeology Careers” will touch on jobs such as archivist, historian, archaeologist, historic preservationist, architectural historian, and more. The seminar is free and open to teens and adults, but registration is required. Interested participants are encouraged to call 973-940-3500 to register. Project Self-Sufficiency is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.
